Procurement centres to get 26 lakh gunny bags

Correspondent

NALGONDA: Twenty-six lakh gunny bags will be supplied to different procurement centres in the district in two or three days, Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy assured farmers here on Saturday. They need not worry about shortage of gunnies, he said in statement.

Mr. Reddy stated that besides the minimum support price for paddy to be brought by ryots to the purchase centres the gunny bags would be made available.

Hence, farmers should not get cheated by middlemen. He would hold discussions with railway officials to make available the required rakes for transporting the procured paddy.

The MP said Nalgonda district was first in procurement in the State and that the Ministers from Nalgonda, MPs and MLAs, the Collector and the Joint Collector were taking all steps to ensure that ryots were not inconvenienced. He appealed to the rice millers and traders in Nalgonda to cooperate with the administration to help the farmers.
