BANGALORE: Steering off the beaten track is no child's play. Opting out of the safety net of professional courses such as engineering and medicine is all the more difficult due to the large gaps in information on those careers. Snapshot of options In his presentation, Ameen-e-Mudassar, Chief Executive Officer of Cigma Infotech, an education consultancy, offered guidance on general careers and gave students a snapshot of the plethora of options that lie ahead of them. Be it options in pure sciences or the arts where there is lot of scope to specialise, there are indeed myriad of them, Mr. Mudassar explained. He led the rapt audience through a wide range of streams, and later took questions on specific careers on these lines. “There are many options outside the conventional ones. What is critical here is clarity of choice,” he told students. Co-curricular activities He also emphasised on co-curricular activities such as debating or sports that help develop an all-round personality.
