This Day That Age
The Indian Council for Child Welfare, which concluded its two-day annual meeting in New Delhi on May 16, has urged the Central and State Governments to undertake “new schemes and projects for child welfare.” The existing services for children and the machinery for it should be reoriented “to meet the total needs of the child on an integrated basis,” a resolution adopted by the Council said. It expressed appreciation of the allotment of Rs. Three crores in the Third Plan separately for child welfare and hoped that the Government would “continue to give special attention” to child welfare.
