Laha, Malhotra win titles
KOLKATA: Debayan Laha and Rohit Malhotra won the sub-junior State billiards and snooker titles at the BRC here on Friday.
Laha defeated Harsh Vardhan Goenka 95-67 to win the billiards crown and Malhotra won his second straight snooker title beat Avranil Sarkar 62-5, 89-53.
Both the winner and the runners-up will represent Bengal in the Nationals at Chennai.
The results: Sub-junior billiards: Final: Debayan Laha bt Harsh Vardhan Goenka 95-67. Semifinals: Laha bt Soham Chowdhury 87-52; Goenka bt Shahid Hussian 97-81.
Snooker: Final: Rohit Malhotra bt Avranil Sarkar 62-5, 89-53. Semifinals: Malhotra bt Laha 48-38, 8-52, 39-29; Sarkar bt Goenka 63-33, 50-24 . — Special Correspondent
