Addressing the 114th Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC), he said that of this, the passengers' segment had posted Rs. 469.19 crore and the goods segment Rs. 1,459 crore.
He also spoke at length about the passenger amenities developed across the division. Mr. Anurag is also the chairman of the DRUCC.
The committee secretary S. Ramesh Babu said that the views and suggestions of the members would be taken into active consideration while proposing new trains or taking up other passenger amenity works. Others who spoke at the meeting included A.K. Bhatnagar, CMS, G. Venkateswara Rao, DOM, Vikram Gupta, senior DEN (co-ordination) and Srinivasa Rao, senior DFM. The Vijayawada Division plans to launch a massive three-day ticket checking drive to curb the menace of ticketless travel. During the three-day drive from May 23, the SCR squads would swoop on railway platforms to keep vigil on those trying to travel without buying a ticket.
