In the dock:Actor Mythria being arrested in Bangalore on Friday. Bangalore: Upcoming Kannada film actor and model Mythria Puttaswamy Gowda, her sister and two others were arrested here on Friday, and their car impounded, after they allegedly manhandled traffic policemen on West of Chord Road near Basaveshwaranagar. Mythria, who has acted in Kalinga and a few ad films, was accompanied by her sister Supriya, a Central College student, and friends Rekha Lohit and Roopa Venkatesh. “The four allegedly manhandled a traffic police constable and an assistant sub-inspector of police near the National School Junction on West of Chord Road at 12.30 p.m.,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Division) S.N. Sidramappa said. According to him, the actor, who was at the wheel, jumped a red light and when ASI Raju and constable Shivakumar stopped the car, she allegedly slapped Mr. Shivakumar while the other three allegedly roughed up Mr. Raju. Mythria and the others, who were arrested, were not accessible to get their side of the story. Police have charged the four under sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from his duty).
