NELLORE: P. Venkata Sai of Ratnam High School, Nellore, scored 595 marks in 10th class examination the results of which were released on Saturday. Another student, Mk. Abdul of the same institution secured 592 marks. The average pass percentage in SSC in the district was 80.62 per cent. Many students of private and Zilla Parishad High Schools fared well. M. Swarna Sri of Raghava Talent School, Nellore, scored 591 marks, while K. Manoj Kumar of the same school got 588 marks, said the school principal B. Swamidoss. N. Pravalika of Zilla Parishad High School, Srikolanu, secured 577 marks and a few other students of ZP and government schools got more than 570 marks in the district, said District Education Officer E. Bala Kasaiah. In Kadapa, Ravindra Bharathi School student L. Harshini stood first in the district by scoring 578 marks, its principal M.K.R. Mani said. V. Manasa topped by scoring 565 marks and S. Arshad Ahmed came second with 564 marks, school principal A. Chinnappa Reddy said. K. Priyanka stood third by getting 561 marks and L. Martha Soolamathi got 560 marks. While eight students secured A 1 grade, 20 got A 2 grade and in all 28 students secured over 500 marks, Mr. Reddy said. Collector pats students Mahabubnagar Collector M. Purushotham Reddy complimented the students and teachers for elevating Mahabubnagar district in the SSC examination result with 85.83 per cent pass. The district occupied seventh place in the State by improving from 17th place last year. The result spoke for itself the hard work put in by the students, teachers and parents.
