BANGALORE: There is no respite in sight for users of Millers Road and for residents affected by the repair work of pipes being taken up by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). For, the incessant rainfall has affected the progress of the work, and the linkage work is scheduled to take place only during the month-end. The work of laying a new pipe to supply water to Pillanna Garden, ITI Colony, Fraser Town, Benson Town and surrounding localities has now fallen behind schedule due to the rain. “The new pipe was scheduled to be linked to the old pipeline on May 24. However, the damaged water pipeline on the road, which caused a loss of nearly 20 lakh litres of water on Wednesday, coupled with frequent rainfall, has delayed the project. We will be able to link the new pipeline only at the end of the month,” a senior BWSSB official said. A worker at the project site said that it will take a month more to be completed.
