Brand new chariot with traditional wooden wheels being prepared Over 200 international delegates to participate, say ISKCON authorities HYDERABAD: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Secunderabad, is organising Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 3, a press release said. The ISKCON authorities on Monday said that a brand new chariot, with the traditional wooden wheels, is being prepared for the upcoming Rath Yatra. Big canopy The procession will also showcase ‘dioramas' or miniature models depicting various stories and pastimes of Lord Jagannath. The chariot will be fitted with sound systems, lighting along with a canopy that could be raised till 20 feet and also brought down by a hydraulic system, ISKCON officials said. Over 200 international delegates from various Countries will participate in the Rath Yatra, said Mahasringadas, Chairman, Temple Administrative Board. “In all, we are expecting over 2 lakh devotees to participate in the Rath Yatra,” he said. The ISKCON authorities have requested all spiritual and social organisations in twin cities to participate in the Rath Yatra. “The route of the Rath Yatra is not yet finalised,” ISKCON officials said.
