Zoo to be set up in Srinagar

Srinagar: Tourists visiting Kashmir as also local citizens will now have a new spot on their itinerary—a zoo that the Jammu & Kashmir Government is planning to set up here.

“The zoo will be set up in a natural ambience where all kinds of animals and birds would be kept for attraction of public as well as tourists,” Forest Minister Mian Altaf Ahmad said on Tuesday while chairing a high-level meeting of senior officials of the Forest, Wildlife, Forest Protection Force and other allied departments.

The process for identifying the land has already started, the Minister said. - PTI
