Squad to check school donation

Bangalore: To check the donation menace in aided and unaided schools in the State, the Government has formed a squad headed by a joint director of the Primary and Secondary Education Department in each division and the squad has been empowered to conduct inspections.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri said that parents or the public can file complaints against school managements seeking donations either with the Deputy Commissioner or with the department officials in taluk or district headquarters.

The department would take action against school managements based on the nature of complaint, he said.

Private schools have been told to charge the fee fixed for government schools.
