Bengal athletics squad

KOLKATA: Bengal athletics named a 15-member squad for the 51st National senior inter-State championship to be held at Bangalore from June 11 to 14.

The squad:

Men: Rahamatulla Molla, Sk. Murtaza and Bachhu Durlav. Women: Arjina Khatun, Asha Roy, Debashri Majumdar, Ranjana Roy, Pratima Tudu, Shipra Senapati, Sahanara Khatun, Mallika Mondal, Piyali Paul, Smritikana Manna, Susmita Singha Roy and Antana Khatun .

Semifinalists spotted

Aamer Hussain, Debasish Mukhopadhyay, Akram Khan and Shakil Ahmed moved into the semifinal league phase of the State men's billiards tournament at the BRC here on Wednesday.

The results:

Quarterfinals: A. Hussain bt Ankit Kariwal 63-101, 100-47, 100-96, 101-74; D. Mukhopadhyay bt Rahul Berlia 100-90, 100-56, 100-76; A. Khan bt Mehfooz Alam 58-100, 102-22, 100-86, 100-14; S. Ahmed bt Nilangshu Halder 42-100, 100-50, 100-65, 101-36 . — Special Correspondent
