Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Ex-Airmen Welfare Association has appealed to the State Government to provide free house site pattas to poor ex-servicemen and exempt ex-servicemen from paying property tax as was being done in other States. An executive committee of the association presided over by State president S. Nithayanandhan passed a resolution in this regard. State general secretary G. Sankaran and State treasurer C.K. Durairaj attended. The meeting resolved to request the Union Government to implement the demand of one-rank and one pension system. The same is pending before the Petitions Committee of Rajya Sabha, the resolution added. Contact The meeting asked ex-servicemen to contact the association office on Red Fields Road in Puliakulam in person or over phone 90036-42860 to get details regarding defence pension, widow pensions and other concession being offered by Union and State Governments.
