VELLORE: VIT University Business School (VITBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Limited, Mumbai, on the VIT campus here recently. G. Viswanathan, VIT Chancellor, and Madhu Kannan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the BSE, signed the MoU on behalf of the institutions. According to a VIT release, the aim of the MoU is to promote research on capital markets, banking, finance and policy and management issues relating to business, industry and technology. The tie-up between the VIT and the BSE in financial market research initiative would be developed with following key components: joint advisory committee to help identify research projects staffed by the BSE, the VIT and their partners; internship programme for doctoral students with opportunity to engage with BSE staff in Mumbai and regional offices; conduct of annual research seminars and conferences at the VIT. The VIT and the BSE would make available educational contents research programmes offered at both the VIT and the BSE Training Institute. Sankar Viswanathan, vice-president (administration), G.V. Sampath, vice-president (operations), V. Raju, Vice-Chancellor, and S. Narayanan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of VIT, S.K. Sekar, Director-in-charge of VITBS, and Eshwaran, Regional Head, BSE, were present during the MoU-signing ceremony.
