Attempt to murder case filed

COIMBATORE: Police are on lookout for 10 persons who have been charged with attempt to murder two persons in the city on Tuesday. Police said A. Mubarak Ali (30) of Kuniamuthur was working at a shop at Athupalam. On Tuesday, around relatives of Mubarak assaulted him and Punitha, a co-worker, with an iron road and ‘kidnapped' Mubarak and Punitha.

Later, both were set free. Police suspect that the Mubarak's relatives were agitated over his alleged intimacy with the co-worker. Mubarak was already married. Mubarak was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with injuries. Based on a complaint lodged by him, Kuniamuthur police have registered a case.
