Haribabu beats Lokesh

CHENNAI: V. Haribalu defeated joint leader P. Lokesh to move into sole lead with seven points after the seventh round of the Velammal State FIDE-rated chess championship, here on Thursday.

Following the leader is the former State champion and IM-norm holder Ram S. Krishnan, with 6.5 points.

Force One triumphs

Force One triumphed in the R.R. Industries-V. Raman Memorial Trophy Twnety20 cricket tournament here after scoring a five-wicket win over Arihant Pharma in the final on Thursday.

The scores: Final: Arihant Pharma 155 for seven in 20 overs (Bharani Kumar 32, Sohail 48, Prasan 40, Murali three for 22, Elango three for 25) lost to Force One 156 for five in 17 overs (Ramesh 35, Elango 55, Praveen 32, Sohail three for 32).

Semifinals: Arihant Pharma 150 for eight in 20 overs (Bharani Kumar 35, Prasan 39, Shashank 32, Shafi three for 37, Mohd. Flakt India defeated Krishnaraj RC by 17 runs in the first division of the TNCA-Kancheepuram DCA league championship last week.

The scores: First division: Flakt India RC 157 for eight in 32 overs (Jagadeesan 51, Suresh three for 37) bt Krishnaraj RC 140 in 30.3 overs (Manohar 41, S. Samual five for 46, Shoaib four for 62).
