Girl secures State third rank

Hailing from Tuticorin, she tops the district with a good record of marks

Tuticorin: As many as 2,076 students of Matriculation Board of Studies passed in class tenth annual public examinations.

A total of 2, 125 students from 55 matriculation schools across the district appeared for the exam.

In Tuticorin educational district, 1, 521 students from 39 schools appeared and 1, 485 were declared pass.

In Kovilpatti educational district, 604 students from 16 schools wrote exams and 591 of them were passed out.

N. Muthusarmathi, a student of A.P.C. Veerabahu Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, excelled in exams with a score of 491 marks.

She topped the district with a good record of marks.

With this performance, the girl has also secured third rank in state.

Marks scored in subjects are – Mathematics – 100, Science – 99, Tamil – 98, Social Science -100 and in English 97. G.R.M. Naraendiran of Ravilla K.R.A. Vidhyashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kovilpatti, stood second with a score of 490 marks.

Scores in subjects are – Mathematics – 100, Science – 100, Social Science – 97, Tail – 98 and in English – 95. M. Vivek Sankar of Kamaraj Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kovilpatti, was ranked third.

He scored a total of 488 marks.

In Mathematics – 100 marks, Science – 100, Social Science – 99, Tamil – 95 and in English – 94 marks.

The results of Anglo Indian Board of Studies in Tuticorin district are S. Preethi of Holy Cross Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, secured a total of 483 marks. With her academic excellence, the girl topped the district.

She was also ranked third in state under Anglo Indian syllabus. Full marks were achieved in Mathematics and Science.

Marks scored in other subjects – Social Science – 94, Tamil – 97 and in English – 92. N. Jayalakshmi of the same school secured the second place with a score of 481 marks.

Subject-wise scores – Mathematics – 100; Science – 99; Social Science – 97; Tamil – 98 and English – 87 marks. Anu Teresha, another girl of the same school, stood third with a score of 479 marks.

In Mathematics and Science, the girl secured 99 marks each. She got 95 marks in Social Science, 97 marks in Tamil and 89 marks in English.

Yet another girl from the same school, S. Caroline, shared the honour with the same score of 479 marks for the third rank.

She scored 99 marks each in Mathematics and Science.

Marks achieved in Social Science – 97, Tamil – 96 and in English – 88.
