Success mantra:G.S. Ramadasu, District Revenue Officer, giving away prizes to district toppers in Pudukottai on Friday. PUDUKOTTAI: The matriculation high and higher secondary schools in the district, in all numbering 41, registered a pass percentage of 96.27 per cent in the matriculation public examination with 1,032 candidates, including 462 girls, emerging successful. A total of 1,072 students, including 474 girls, appeared for the examination held in March. Students from Mount Zion Matriculation Higher secondary school secured the district ranks: R.Muralidharan with 489 marks secured the district first rank; R. Prakashsamy with 487 marks got the second rank; S.Manju and M.Madankumar with 484 marks shared the third rank. SSLC exams Students from government higher secondary schools secured the district ranks in the SSLC examination, the results of which were released on Friday. Three students from government schools got the district first and third ranks. B. Muthulakshmi of Government Girls HSS in Gandarvakottai and V. Raja of Government Boys' HSS in Subramaniapuram near Aranthangi got the district first rank. They got 493 marks each. The second rank went to M. Ezhilmadhi of Sacred Heart Girls' HSS in Pudukottai, who got 490 marks. The third position went to C. Jenitha of Government Girls' HSS in Viralimalai who secured 489 marks. According to D. Hariharan, Chief Educational Officer, nine government schools registered cent per cent pass percentage. Of them, three schools in Thazhanur, Kurumablur and Rajendrrapuram, upgraded into high school during 2010-11 academic year, sent the first batch. The following is the names of government schools that secured the cent per cent pass percentage along with the strength of students passed through it: Government HSS Kallur near Aranthangi (48); Government High Schools in Krishnajipattinam, a coastal village (26); Ayinkudi (49); Posampatti (29); Keezhaiyur (41); Kilaankadu (30); Thazhanur (11); Kurumbalur (14) and Rajendrapattinam (8). In all 21,684 candidates – 10,582 boys and 11,102 girls appeared for the examination of whom 18,077 students-8,537 boys and 9,540 girls -emerged successful. The pass percentage was 83.37 per cent, he said.
