ONGOLE: Three boys who ventured for a swim to beat the heat met with a watery grave at Kanigiri in Prakasam district on Friday. .
According to the police, the boys were initially playing in shallow waters in Nagula Chervu. All of a sudden, they slipped into deep waters and drowned.
Expert swimmers were pressed into service to fish out the bodies of 13-year-old B Rajasekhar, 12-year-old K Mahesh, and 12-year-old N Yeshwant Reddy, the police added.
Rajahmundry Staff Reporter adds: Two persons drowned when they went for a swim in the Godavari near Kotilingala Revu here on Friday morning. According to the police, Valluri Suryanarayana (45) and his nephew Manna Venkata Suresh of Aryapuram drowned one after the other after they ventured into the river. Their bodies were fished out in the afternoon.
