Coin to mark 1,000 years of Brihadeeswarar Temple

CHENNAI: The Reserve Bank of India will shortly release into circulation Rs.5 coin on the theme “1000 years of Brihadeeswarar Temple.”

Lion symbol

The face of the coin will have the Ashoka Pillar Lion symbol in the centre with the legend ‘Satyameva Jayate' (in Hindi) inscribed below.

The reverse will bear the image of Brihadeeswarar Temple and the statue of King Raja Rajan – 1 (with folded hands) of the Chola Dynasty, according to a release.
