Utilise temples for the service of people: seer

KOCHI: Temples should be utilised for the service of the people and not just for religious services, said Vishweshatheertha Swami of the Udupi Pejawar Math.

Addressing a gathering here on Sunday organised by the Udupi Madwa Brahmana Sabha to mark 80 {+t} {+h} birth day of the seer, he said that “Nar-sewa is Narayan sewa and jan-sewa is Janardhana sewa.”

Kerala High Court Judge K. Padmanabhan Nair inaugurated the function. S. Narayan, State general secretary; B. Girirajan, president, and M.A. Harikrishnan Potti of the youth wing of the Sabha spoke.

Earlier, the Sabha had organised a delegates' meeting, a women's session and a youth meet.
