CET rank holder set for career in medicine

GULBARGA: Siddalinga Reddy, a student of Sharanabasaveshwar Residential Composite Pre-University College here, has secured the 13th rank in the medical stream of the Common Entrance Test (CET), doing his college proud.

The only son of Vishwanath and Rajeshwari Reddy, both doctors, Siddalinga secured the 106th rank in the engineering stream of the CET.

“I am thankful for the support of my parents and my teachers for this achievement,” said the bespectacled boy, who scored a perfect 100 in mathematics, 98 in chemistry, 96 in biology and 95 in physics in his II pre-university examination.

He has also written the All-India Pre-Medical Test, the results of which are scheduled to be announced on June 3.

Speaking to The Hindu, Siddalinga said that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his parents and pursue medicine.

Students of Sharanabasaveshwar Residential Composite Pre-University College have fared well in the CET, with three of them, including Siddhalinga, within the first 100 ranks of the medical stream.

Arunkumar Chidri and Amit R. Hudgi are ranked 84 and 90 respectively, while Ankita has secured the 87th rank in the engineering stream.

The performance of students from other colleges in the district was not immediately available.
