Brought to book: The eight persons who were arrested for the alleged murder of history-sheeter Kalyani Mahmood recently. HYDERABAD: The city police on Monday arrested eight persons in connection with the murder of a history-sheeter at Kacheguda a few days ago. The arrested have been identified as Gore Mahmood, Mohammed Abdul Sajjad, Mohammed Jaffar, Mohammed Sabeer Hussain, Syed Yakub, Mohammed Irfan Khan, Shaik Hameed and Mohammed Khaja. Daggers, iron rods, sticks and vehicles used for committing the offence were seized from them, police said. Gang rivalry Kacheguda Inspector B. Koteshwar Rao said Gore Mahamood and his associates attacked history-sheeter Kalyani Mahmood with daggers, rods and sticks and killed him on the spot due to gang rivalry. Gore Mahmood came to know that the deceased was planning to eliminate him. With the help of his accomplices, he intercepted Kalyani Mahmood at RTC quarters in Kacheguda on May 24 and murdered him. The eight accused fled to Shadnagar in Mahbubnagar district after committing the crime. Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed them.
