Gold jewellery stolen from police quarters

TIRUCHI: Unidentified persons struck houses of two police personnel situated in police quarters at E. Pudur here and made away with 30 sovereigns of gold jewellery on Monday night when the inmates were away. Police sources said the culprits broke the lock of the house of Special Sub Inspector Arockiaraj and decamped with 20 sovereigns of jewellery. Arockiaraj had gone to Velankanni along with his family when the offence occurred. The sources said 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery was stolen from the house of Head Constable Jayasekar, attached with the Special Investigation Unit here. The E. Pudur Police has registered separate cases and is investigating.
