RICCO to develop nine new industrial areas

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) proposes to develop nine new industrial areas during the current financial year at a cost of Rs.190 crore. The Corporation has earmarked Rs.360 crore for the year 2011-12 to develop the new industrial areas and maintaining the existing ones.

The new industrial areas are in Ghiloth (Neemrana), Prahladpura, Manda Phase-II (Jaipur), Tapukara Extension, Khushkhera Extension (Bhiwadi), Kohla (Hanumangarh), IID Palsana (Sikar), Naya Gaon (Pali) and 13 LNP (Sriganganagar).

“RIICO is giving high priority for development of infrastructure by way of developing new industrial areas and upgrading the infrastructure of some of the important existing industrial areas,” said RIICO Managing Director Rajendra Bhanawat. The Corporation has so far developed 321 industrial areas in various parts of the State. Over 28,000 industrial units located in these areas are in production at present.

In 2010-11, the Corporation developed new industrial areas in Kishangarh Phase V, Silora Phase II, Palra and Roopangarh (Ajmer), in Kahrani (Bhiwadi-I), in Balotra Phase IV (Balotra), in Ramchandrapura, Manda Phase-I, Vishwakarma Industrial Area (Jaipur), in the Japanese Zone (Neemrana), in Kaladwas Extension (Udaipur), in Kishanghat (Jaisalmer) in Karni Extension and Nokha (Bikaner) and others. It spent Rs.92.42 crore on these new industrial areas. Mr. Bhanawat said in the financial year 2010-11, the Corporation spent Rs.49.21 crore for maintenance of the industrial areas located in Bhiwadi, EPIP Sitapura, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Jhalawar, Kota, Pali, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Sikar, Balotra and a few others.
