GUNTUR: Chilakaluripet MLA D. Narendra Kumar has said YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy should prove his strength by asking his “supporters” in the Assembly to move the no-confidence motion against the government. Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Narendra Kumar said the TDP was prepared to endorse the motion. A resolution to that effect was passed in the Mahanadu, he said. Making a guess that contrary to his claims the YSR Congress president had the support of only 15 to 17 MLAs, the TDP leader said that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy would be able to clear the air on his real strength only when he showed the MLAs on his side. The government would be reduced to a minority even if Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy submitted a letter to the Governor with the signatures of the 15 MLAs, he said. The TDP had passed a no-confidence motion against the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy government with the backing of only 42 MLAs, Mr. Narendra Kumar said and added there was no reason why it should backtrack now if the situation warranted.
