Begusarai: Senior Lok Janshakti Party leader and ex-MP Surajbhan Singh was on Tuesday acquitted by a court in a case relating to shooting in which a villager was killed in Begusarai district of Bihar in 1996.
Fast-track court judge Dinanath Pandey exonerated the LJP leader from all the charges in the absence of sufficient evidence. The vehicle of Ratan Singh, former District Board President of Begusarai, was attacked by unidentified persons near Mokama on December 27, 1996. While Ratan Singh escaped unhurt, one Dinesh Singh died in the attack. - PTI
