Bhaskar in blazing form

BANGALORE: B. Bhaskar was in his element. And bearing the brunt of his ruthless form was southpaw D. Raj Kumar and junior champion Mundir Sherazi, both of who caved in without fight against the former National champion in the State-ranking billiards tournament at the KSGA hall here on Tuesday.

I.H. Manudev overcame giant killer A. Satish Kumar in a long-drawn battle winning 92-154, 150-84, 97-151,152-126, 150-44.

The top three, Bhaskar, Manudev and Raj Kumar will represent the State in senior billiards in the Nationals at Chennai starting July 16.

ADE posts win

Two first half goals sufficed to give ADE a 2-0 win over AGORC in the BDFA ‘A' division football league encounter here on Tuesday.

Santosh gave ADE a12th minute lead and Murugan added to the score in the 19th minute for a facile victory.

South Western Railways (SWR) swamped BWSSB 4-0 with goals from David (12th), Arun Das (46th), Arul (78th) and Johnson (79th).

Big win for MOC

Mangalore Occasionals (MOC) defeated Petland Pet Sports Associations (PPSA) by a huge margin of 275 runs in the KSCA's Mangalore zone cricket tournament at Mangalore on Tuesday.

The scores: MOC 316 for nine in 50 overs (Mahesh 90, Adithya Rai 63, Abhijith S. Prasad 49, Sameer four for 63) bt PPSA 41 in 10.1 overs (Adrick five for 20, Sahas Rai four for 21) .

Five-wkt. win for Triton

In a match reduced to 16 overs, due to a delayed start owing to overnight rain, Triton SC (Mysore) registered a five-wicket win over Abrasive Technologies Ltd (Bangalore) in their KSCA Group II, IInd division league played at Mysore on Tuesday.

The scores: Abrasive Technologies Ltd, Bangalore 117 for five in 16 overs (Santosh 32, Ajay 26) lost to Triton Sports Club, Mysore 121 for five in 16 overs (Vinay Kumar 36, Dilip 25 n.o.) .

Match drawn

Pope FC and Ganesha FC were involved in a 1-1 drawn encounter in the ‘A' group, MDFA ‘A' division league tie for the Achutharao Memorial trophy at the University football grounds here on Tuesday. Center-forward Rohit scored in the 15th minute for Ganesha FC, while Anthony George equalised for Pope FC in the 60th minute. Both the teams secured a point each from this drawn tie.
