Double for Mananjay Chauhan

Bangalore: Mananjay Chauhan of MEG and Centre along with Basavanagudi Aquatic Club's S. Shraddha bagged a double each in the Group III boys and girls events respectively of the State sub-junior aquatic championship that commenced here on Thursday.

The results (winners only): Boys: Group III: 200m freestyle: R. Sanjeev (PMSC), T: 2:24.36s; 100m butterfly: Manish Chandra (PMSC), 1:13.07; 200m ind. medley: Mananjay Chauhan (MEG & C), 2*:44.67; 100m breaststroke: Mananjay, 1:25.27.

Group IV: 50m back stroke: N. Sri Hari (GSA), 37.03.

Girls: Group III: 200m freestyle: S. Shraddha (BAC), 2:31.91; 100m butterfly: B. Pavithra (BAC), 1:17.95; 200m ind. medley: Shraddha, 2:50.30; 100m breaststroke: T. Preethi (BAC), 1:30.10; 50m freestyle: Damini Gowda (BAC), 29.65.

Group IV: 50m backstroke: Manasi Herekar (SCB), 40.65; 100m freestyle: L. Anusha (PMSC), 1:17.58 .

Yuvraj sizzles

Yuvraj Yadav of ASC Centre and College won the show jumping (cadets) and jumping events of the Army equestrian championship here on Thursday. Astride Millenium, Yuvraj excelled in both the segments.

The results (winners only): Show jumping (novice): Surender Singh (Gulmohar), PBG; Show jumping (cadets - accumulator): Yuvraj Yadav (Millenium), ASC Centre & College; Cadets jumping: Yuvraj .

Arjun in super league

Qualifier A.R. Arjun made it through to the super league of the 42nd senior State snooker championship here on Thursday. Arjun downed Michael Rebello and Ajay Bhushan on a day of fluctuating fortunes to join I.H. Manudev, B. Bhaskar, M.S. Arun, Sajan Bopanna, Mundir Sherazi, Balaji Reddy and B.V.S. Murthy in the top eight.

Hat-trick by Preetham

A hat-trick by Preetham (18th, 48th & 85th minute) and a brace by Rakshith (28th & 58th), helped Town Sports Club, Bannur register a 6-1 win over Jolly XI in the Group ‘A' league tie of the MDFA ‘A' division league in Mysore on Thursday.

Praveen (42nd) was the other scorer for the winner. At half-time the winner lead 3-0. Mithun reduced the margin for Jolly XI in the 78th minute of the game.

Town Sports Club, Bannur has played three games and won two and drawn one, while Jolly XI has played two and drawn one and lost one.
