Japanese Ambassador Akitaka Saiki with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Writers Building in Kolkata on Thursday. Kolkata: Japanese Ambassador Akitaka Saiki on Thursday visited Netaji Bhavan here to pay homage to Subhas Chandra Bose and mentioned Indo-Japan friendship in the visitors' book. He went round Netaji's bedroom, the museum's central gallery and the German room. In the Asia room, the Japanese envoy took keen interest in Japanese submarine model during World War II, chair, table, cap and boots used by Netaji as supreme commander of the INA, the sword presented to Netaji in Japan as head of the provisional government of Azad Hind. Two books, “The Great Escape” and “The Oracle 2011”, were presented to him on behalf of the Netaji Research Bureau.
