No right turn at Punjagutta

HYDERABAD: Right turn at Punjagutta junction has been banned by traffic police from Thursday.

The decision was taken since traffic was being held up frequently with commuters coming from different directions turning right at the junction, Traffic Police Additional Commissioner, C.V. Anand, said.

Hereafter, vehicles heading towards Khairatabad from Nagarjuna Circle side should turn right at the newly created ‘U' turn under Punjagutta ‘Y' fly-over near Venkat Plaza complex.

Those going from Ameerpet to Nagarjuna Circle must turn left at the junction and turn right at the same ‘U' turn beneath the flyover near Venkat Plaza complex. Vehicles going from Somajiguda Circle to Ameerpet should go straight towards Nagarjuna Circle and take ‘U' turn near Bata showroom. Traffic going from NIMS side to Somajiguda circle should go straight after the junction and take ‘U' turn near Punjagutta Government High School.

New restrictions

Meanwhile, to ease traffic congestion and criss-crossing of vehicles at Secunderabad YMCA junction, the city police have imposed restrictions on flow of traffic from Thursday. Accordingly, vehicles going from West Marredpally to St. John's Rotary should turn left at H.P. petrol pump. Vehicles coming from West Marredpally will not be allowed to proceed towards Clock Tower or Garden Hotel or to turn right towards SBH crossroads.

Those intending to reach Clock Tower, Garden Hotel or SBH crossroads should turn right towards the lane between Ganesh temple and St. Andrew's Church before turning left towards YMCA.

Vehicles will not be allowed to go from YMCA junction side to West Marredpally via Ganesh temple road.

They should turn left at YMCA towards Sweekar Upkaar junction, turn right taking the road between St. Andrew's Church and Ganesh temple. Vehicles going from Sweekar Upkaar junction to St. John's Rotary via Cantonment Park should turn left taking the lane beside Ganesh temple, then turn right and proceed further.
