HYDERABAD: The TDP trained all its guns on YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy while asking him to defeat the Congress candidates in the Speaker and Deputy Speaker election if he wants to prove himself to be a credible leader opposing an inefficient government. The TDP MLAs, Payyavula Keshav and D. Narendra Kumar, told mediapersons after the party candidates filed nomination to the elections that this was the first big test for Mr. Jagan. He should make his stand clear whether he supported an inefficient government or the TDP which stood by people. It was not the question of going to the aid of TDP if he extended support to the party, they added. Noting that nearly 15 Congress MLAs turned up when Mr. Jagan's mother Vijayamma was sworn in on Friday, the TDP MLAs asked him to prove whether he commanded their support even in the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker. The TDP entered the fray for the election keeping in view the style of functioning of Mr. Jagan who had several times in the past stated that the government was not fit to continue even for a single day in view of its anti-people policies.
