Mumbai: Delhi's withdrawal of the overage protest against Chandigarh allowed the latter to qualify for the quarterfinals at the junior National hockey championships for U-17 boys, played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium. Chandigarh ended up topping Group E with six points. Delhi which had lodged a protest naming seven players as overage, withdrew it officially in writing via their manager. As a result, none of the Chandigarh boys sent for a medical test have been disqualified. The earlier result of 3-1 stands in favour of Chandigarh. According to a MHA release, the fate of seven players has not been decided yet. The medical report has been received and kept in sealed covers, to be opened in case of another protest in the knockouts. The results: Karnataka 6 (Basavraj 2, T.V. Pratik 2, K.G.
