TRS feared backlash from SCs

Staff Reporter

Drops plan to obstruct Kiran's visit

Due to sudden withdrawal of agitation, former legislator S. Ramalinga Reddy evades arrest

Activists of ABVP create commotion at the meeting by raising slogans

SANGAREDDY: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which has announced obstruction of the visit of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy that was held at Waddepally village in Dubbak constituency of Medak district on Friday changed its plan in the last minute.

They apparently feared backlash from the Sechedule Caste community, which has largely benefited from the programme against the party.

The TRS had already announced its programme to obstruct the Chief Minister's visit on Thursday.

The announcement was made by former legislator S. Ramalinga Reddy. The police had also geared up to face any eventuality with the threats issued by the TRS.

All of a sudden they withdrew their agitation plans to the surprise of police as well as district administration. Mr. Ramalinga Reddy evaded even police arrest.

Instead, it was the activists of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) who created commotion for few minutes at the meeting.

Two batches of students attended the meeting and raised slogans one after another within a gap of 15 minutes.

However, their entering the venue with pocket-inserted flags has left the police red faced.
