Health Minister to receive petitions on all Saturdays

Staying in touch: Health Minister V.S. Vijay with a petitioner at the MLA's office in Vellore on Saturday.

  VELLORE: Health Minister V.S. Vijay told newspersons at the Vellore MLA's office here on Saturday that he would receive petitions from the public at the office between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on all Saturdays, unless he had other official engagements.

After receiving petitions, he would discuss with officials at the Collectorate about issues concerning various departments, which required urgent attention and thrash them out. He said that he received 64 petitions from the public at the MLA's office on May 29. They included 22 petitions related to medical facilities, 21 on enrolment in schools and colleges, 15 on old age pension, three on drinking water, two on employment and one on road facility. Dr. Vijay said that he had forwarded all petitions to the departments concerned .
