Procession marks birth anniversary of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar

Celebration:Schoolchildren taking part in a procession organised to mark the 127th birth anniversary of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar in Mysore on Saturday.

MYSORE: The 127th birth anniversary of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was marked by a grand procession taken out by various folk troupes, cultural troupes and schoolchildren, here on Saturday.

Minister in charge of Mysore district S.A. Ramdas flagged off the procession, which passed through Gun House Circle, New Sayyaji Rao Road, Krishnarajendra Circle (K.R. Circle) and Town Hall.

When the procession reached K.R. Circle, dignitaries, including Mr. Ramdas and A.H. Vishwanath, MP, garlanded the statue of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

An open vehicle carried the portrait of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.Veeragase Kunita, Navilu Kunita, Kamsale, Bombe Kunita and other folk forms added glitter to the procession.

The procession culminated at Town Hall where a programme was held.
