Environmental film fete today

MALAPPURAM: The Friends of Nature Charitable Society here will celebrate World Environment Day by conducting an environmental film festival at Kondotty on Sunday.
K.V. Mohammed Kunhi, scientist at Malabar Botanical Garden, Olavanna, will inaugurate the fete, ‘Green Screen', at Mark Library Hall, Kondotty, at 10 a.m.
Biju Ibrahim, director, will speak.
Rafeek Babu, secretary of the society, said five or six eco-wildlife films would be screened.
Fly Away Home, a 1996 film directed by Carroll Ballard, will be the inaugural movie. The other films to be screened at the festival are Derzu Uzala by Akira Kurosawa, Oru Mazhuvinte Dooram Koodi Mathram, and The Mountain of the Monsoon.
