KANNUR: As many as 47 trainees at the Recruits Training Centre (RTC) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Peringome, near Payyannur, here were admitted to hospital after they developed symptoms of food poisoning on Saturday. The RTC authorities sprang to action when several trainees, from different parts of the country, complained of nausea and dysentery. They also showed signs of physical exhaustion and were rushed to the hospital at RTC. Some others were taken to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital (PMCH), sources said. As many as 20 trainees had been admitted there. The source of food poisoning was being examined.
