Industrial policy will be formulated with youth in mind, says Kunhalikutty

Meritorious SSLC, Plus Two students felicitated


MALAPPURAM: The district panchayat felicitated 920 students who secured A-plus grade in all subjects in SSLC and Plus Two examinations at a function here on Saturday.

Inaugurating the function, Minister for Industries P.K. Kunhalikutty said the government would focus on setting up of modern industries. More job opportunities should be created as qualified hands were waiting for employment, he said.

The government would frame an industrial policy that would benefit the new generation. Mr. Kunhalikutty gave away the district panchayat's award to K. Favaz who secured full marks in Plus Two examinations from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Manjeri.

District panchayat president Zuhara Mampad presided over the function. Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb was also present. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rabb said all efforts would be made to address the problems in education sector.

Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar gave away awards to the schools which registered 100 per cent pass in the SSLC examinations in the district.

P. Ubaidulla, MLA, gave away awards to the schools which topped in Plus Two and Vocational Higher Secondary Examinations. District panchayat vice-president P.K. Kunhu, district panchayat education standing committee chairperson K.P. Jalseemiya, public works standing committee chairperson V. Sudhakaran, district panchayat councillors Sakeena Pulpadan, Umer Arakkal, Salim Kuruvambalam, Rohit, Malappuram Municipal Chairman K.P. Mustafa, Higher Secondary Regional Deputy Director Jayarajan, and Deputy Director of Education V. Ramachandran spoke.
