Three killed in separate accidents

KAKINADA: Three persons were killed in separate accidents in the district on Saturday. According to the police, Malla Veerabhadra Rao ( 28), and his elder brother Malla Ammi Raju(30) died in an accident near G. Ragampeta in the early hours of the day. The accident took place when they were on their way to Gorinta village from Kakinada on the motorcycle driven by Veerabhadra Rao who lost his control and hit a compound wall on the road side. Rao died on the spot. Ammi Raju died while undergoing treatment in the Government General Hospital here, the police added. In another incident, Kukkala Anil(20) died on the spot when the motorcycle driven by him hit a lorry at four roads junction of Vakalapudi. Pillion Dondapati Rama Rao(22) was undergoing treatment in the GGH.

At Oobalanka village near Ravulapalem, a man reportedly injured himself after injuring his wife with a knife. Undrajavarapu Sekhar married Bhagyalakshmi two years ago and the couple had some family disputes. On Saturday morning, Sekhar reportedly injured Bhagyalakshmi with a knife being used to cut vegetables, and later injured himself. Both were shifted to the government hospital in Rajahmundry and their condition was stable. Police have registered a case. Investigating is on.
