Belgaum: Education can reach every household if 20 per cent seats in educational institutions are reserved for students from below the poverty line (BPL) families, Governor of Tripura and educationist D.Y. Patil has said. Mr. Patil unveiled a bust of the late educationist Nathajirao Guruanna Halgekar, architect of the Maratha Mandal which runs several educational institutions, here on Saturday. He said that he did not believe in the term “educational revolution” as higher education had reached only about 12 per cent of the people. Mr. Patil called upon the people to cultivate their minds by keeping jealousyat bay.
