LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh on Saturday discouraged party workers from insisting on tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. “Though every party worker has the right to demand a ticket, only those in a position of victory would be given priority,” Mr. Singh told party workers at the headquarters here. Urging the workers to remain disciplined, he said this was not the time to complain about ticket distribution but to work towards victory. Everyone would get due respect once the party came to power, he added. Several leaders including senior Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Chaudhary Brahm Singh Baliyan joined the Samajwadi Party expressing confidence in Mr. Singh's leadership. - PTI
