Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Volga Archery Academy chairman and father of Ch. Lenin, late Indian archery coach, Cherukuri Satyanarayana on Saturday said authorities of the Indian Railways had handed over Rs. 5 lakh as ex gratia to Kranti, wife of SCR archer Lenin, who died in a road accident near Ibrahimpatnam in October last year.

“The ex gratia was announced by the Railway Ministry soon after the accident. I am thankful to Divisional Railway Manager Anurag, Assistant Sports Officer P.V. Ramana, and Sports Inspector N. Arjuna Rao and others for their help,” said Mr. Satyanarayana.

Lenin, 24, met with an accident while returning from Hyderabad after attending the felicitation function organised by the State government to honour coaches and players from Andhra Pradesh who won medals in the Commonwealth Games.
