CHENNAI: A total of 25 children in need were chosen for the ‘Touch of Hope' scholarships to enable them to continue with their higher secondary education by the Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM). Ravi Zacharias, founder, chairman and CEO of RZIM launched the initiative here on Saturday. The RZIM Life Focus Society facilitates “discussions, open forums, workshops and talk shows on contemporary issues of eternal significance.”

Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebration of RZIM India, Mr. Zacharias said these meritorious students were chosen from different regions. “Every penny given to the ‘Touch of Hope' scholarship goes entirely to fund the education of children,” he said. A coffee table volume was also released by Mr. Zacharias, who runs RZIM that is headquartered in Atlanta.

The highlight of the evening was the rendering of songs by well-known singers and musicians including music director Vijay Ebenezer and playback singer Tanvi Shah.

S.D. Reuben, Chairman and CEO of RZIM India, spoke about the ‘endearing vision and values' of RZIM. He said it is among the promising ministries of tomorrow and catered to the needs of the intelligentsia. A video presentation on RZIM activities was screened.
