Minister requests Opposition parties to participate in Assembly session Centre accused of not releasing funds for providing MSP to paddy growers BELLARY: The Law will take its own course as no one is above the law. All those involved in corruption and other illegal activities, including illegal mining, will land in jail, said Health Minister B. Sriramulu on Saturday at a press conference here. To a question, he said that stern legal action should be taken against Dayanidhi Maran for his alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam. Mr. Sriramulu, while expressing support for the indefinite fast launched by Baba Ramdev and his demands, which include recovery of black money stashed in overseas banks and eradication of corruption, criticised the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government for not initiating any steps to retrieve black money. Urging the UPA Government to retrieve black money at the earliest, he said that the money so recovered could be utilised for development projects and for the uplift of the poor. Stating that the participation of Opposition parties in the Legislative Assembly sessions was essential for providing good governance and overall development of the State, he said that he was pained by the decision of the Opposition parties to boycott the session. “ I appeal to the Opposition parties to attend the session and give their suggestions. I promise them that development work will not be hampered,” he said. Blaming the Union Government for not releasing funds for providing minimum support price to paddy growers, Mr. Sriramulu said that he had requested the Chief Minister to start procuring paddy with the corpus available with the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committees and reimburse it after the Centre released the grant.
