Violence against women decried

Staff Reporter

KHAMMAM: Activists of the All-India Democratic Women's Association and the Kulavivaksha Vyatireka Porata Samithi have torched an effigy of what they called “lovelorn youth” here on Saturday in a symbolic protest against brutal murder of young girls and women by “spurned youth.” Earlier, the protesters took out a procession from the municipal office to Dr. Ambedkar Circle. They submitted a memorandum to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar. The representatives said offences against women were on the rise.
