BMTC to observe Bus Day on Monday

BANGALORE: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation will observe this month's Bus Day on June 6 instead of June 4.

This decision was taken as Saturday was a holiday for most of the institutions.

To accommodate more trips, the BMTC will operate 3,000 additional trips and will increase the shift timings till 10 p.m.

The additional buses will be operated in the following arterial corridors: Old Madras Road, HAL Airport Road, Sarjapur Road, Hosur Road, Bannerghatta Road, Mysore Road, Tumkur Road, Kanakapura Road, Bellary Road, Magadi Road, Thanisandra Road and Hennur Road, including Outer and Inner Ring Road.

The BMTC in a release said the focus of this month's Bus Day will be to further enforce traffic discipline and sensitise BMTC staff to facilitate the commuters better.
