Woman killed in fire accident

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A worker, M. Saroja (40), was killed and another injured in a fire accident at a cracker unit near Sattur on Saturday.

The police said that M. Rahim (35) sustained serious burns and has been admitted to a private hospital in Madurai.

The accident occurred when both the workers were handling explosives to make multiple shot crackers at the unit in Salwarpatti. A working shed was damaged in the explosion.
