Lokayukta raids check-posts

BANGALORE: Simultaneous raids on commercial and transport check-posts were conducted by Lokayukta sleuths on Saturday.
Unaccounted money worth Rs. 95,000 was recovered and cases were booked against 15 persons, including four commercial tax officers.
According to a press release from the Lokayuta office, raids were conducted at five check-posts in Bangalore Rural districts. The commercial tax check-posts at Nelamangala, Hoskote, Attibele and Bagepalli and the regional transport check-post at Attibele were raided following a tip-off that money was being collected illegally from vehicle owners and drivers by officials at these posts.
Cases filed
Criminal cases were filed against 13 persons while the others face disciplinary action.
