Five held for burglary

Hassan: The police have recovered valuables worth Rs. 20 lakh from five people, who allegedly burgled the residence of Y. Sampangi, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, at Hongasandra in Bangalore on June 1.
Superintendent of Police Amit Singh told presspersons on Saturday that 726 gm of gold and 1.72 kg of silver had been recovered from the accused. One four-wheeler, four cell phones and a few lethal weapons have also been seized.
Suspicious behaviour
Arsikere police arrested Deepak, Ravi, Chandru, Venkatesh and Jagadish, when they were on their way to Shimoga to sell the valuables. Mr. Singh said these people were taken into custody as their movements were suspicious.
The arrested have confessed to the crime.
